Too many extension cords around your home is a bad sign. It means you've exceeded the capacity of your available outlets. Extension cords can be the worst fire hazards in your home. Especially those large circuits for air conditioners, refrigerators & portable heaters.

The answer is to install the proper number of electrical outlets in your home. In general, each wall in your home should have at least one electrical outlet. If your home is older, and hasn't been updated electrically, you likely are lacking in outlets. Some may not even have proper 3- prong grounding, another potential hazard, especially in wet conditions inside or outside.
